I have wanted to use my embroidery machine to do applique, but have been intimidated. Today I found a great tutorial! (I love the internet!)
http://www.sewswell.com/applique_instructions01.html
So, now it is time to look for designs & get inspired on incorporating this form of applique into a quilt. (you can all start wishing me luck now) :)
Off to start another UFO!
I have never had so many as I do now!

Thanks for the link. I have also been looking for a tutorial on the web to get me inspired to try applique.
Good luck...will be watching for your new creations!!
I'm familiar with Sew Swell..great designs & be sure to sign up for their newsletter.
Another great embroidery site & my favorite is: emblibrary.com/ Ck. them out..thousands of designs & some great applique ones too.
Have fun.
SewMeow...oh yes, emblibrary is my fave! I have found the hardest part of using the machine is finding the right instructions. Classes are too far away for me (2 hours ONE way), so I was tickled in pink polka dots to find this great explanation!
Ever have one of those AH HA! moments....
was just eyeing up the patriotic quilt blocks on emblibrary...and it said to look for the link to projects on the left...
AH HA!
http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/projectinstructions.aspx
all my questions answered....on so many projects!
You rock SewMeow!
i would be glad to send a few.
You should try baby machine embroidery designs! I have been having so much fun with them!
