My favorite part of quilting is the design process. First sorting thru the fabric and deciding what I will use. Then playing with the pattern on my design board. It always seems that what was in my head is not what comes out on the board but that is ok, I have to use my brain.

I'd love to play along! I haven't seen that line of MODA. I'm interested in knowing what it is. My least favorite part of quilting is all the ironing! My favorite part is the actual quilting of the blanket.

Susan said...

Such beautiful sunny fabrics! My least favorite part of quilting is trying to decide how to quilt a quilt...the "quilt as desired" phrase scares me to death!

Thearica said...

Please sign me up for your give-away! My least favorite part of the process is the ironing! I tend to iron every seam as I sew it and it takes forty-forever! My favorite part of the process is the FINISH! :)

Amanda said...

Those fabrics are so pretty. My favorite part of quilting is seeing beautiful fabric transform into even more beautiful quilt blocks as I cut and sew them back together!

What lovely Fat Quarters. My least favorite part of quilting is basting. I love piecing the top and when I'm done I want to get to the quilting right away. If I try to hurry through the basting that can be a disaster.

Thanks for the chance to win.

I love all aspects of quilting. I have been into hand applique lately. Ok, I guess I don't love the mess of my sewing room from all the projects I do. Fun fabric!

What a wonderful idea for a giveaway.
I would have to say the binding is the quilting thing I dislike the most and I don't really dislike it. lol

Moda has got to be the best dressed design fabric in the industry! Enter me please.

Didn't know if this was suppose to be a seperate comment but here it is:

My absolute favorite part of quilting is sewing the binding down by hand on the back of a quilt. I love having the quilt across my lap and quietly sewing...guess I'd like any hand work like applique or hand piecing, but haven't gotten into that. It's such a satisfying feeling I guess. My least favorite is sandwiching...all aspects...piecing the backing, ironing that out, sandwiching and basting...I usually stall on this part until I am forced to get that project finished!

love2ragquilt said...

I love Moda and am anxious to see the rest of that line.
My least favorite thing in quilting is the sandwiching of a quilt to get it ready to quilt especially if it is a large quilt. It is so hard for me not to get wrinkles in the back. My favorite part is when it is completed and I can go on to the next project.

OMG!! MODA!!! My favorite part of quilting, whether traditonal or raggy, is coming up with the right combination of fabrics. You put this and that together, change things around, try something else and then it just clicks. I know I've gotten it right when my reaction is "oh, yeah!"

FabricsNQuilts said...

The moda line is Eclectic. I suppose I should have mentioned that. :) I have a few different FQ color stories I will be listing on etsy from this line :)

Rachel Locke said...

They are so vintage spring looking. My favorite part of quilting is the planing out, seeing how it all goes together.

BUMBLE BEANS said...

Love love love the yellows!~ Please enter me! my favorite thing about quilting? the designing gives me a real thrill. BUT, finishing one, and knowing that it may be around a lot longer than me, I love that.

ohnikki said...

I despise pressing!! But I do it because it is absolutely necessary....

Jaime Benavides said...

LoVe LoVe LoVe those fabric designs! Thank you for the chance to win;)

Ashley said...

I just discovered that I don't have much yellow fabric, so winning these would be so perfect! I love the whole quilting process, though my favorite part might be selecting and cutting into the fabric. Although I also like the quilting part, and handsewing the binding... The only part I'm less excited about is ironing, but then again, I've always hated ironing!

M and E said...

Those fat quarters are so lovely and springy! I'm actually working on my first quilt right now! So far, my least favorite thing was choosing a pattern, because now that I'm into it, I keep finding others I like more!

Leigh said...

I love picking out fabrics for quilts! And of course, I love to finish one!!!

Hi there, love the moda quarters! Great springy colors...I have yet to find out what is my fav or least favorite part, but I hope to know soon... Probably just overcomming the fear of where to start would be great.
Thanks

Sam said...

I really love the whole process of making a quilt! I enjoy the excitement of planning and choosing fabric, cutting and piecing can get tedious, but then comes the best part...finishing! I love to hand sew the binding...your almost done! and its gorgeous!
That light green fabric just screams spring! I am starting a green log cabin and that would just go perfectly! Thanks for the chance to win!

What a wonderful giveaway. I think my favorite part of quilting is picking out fabric in the stores! My least favorite is picking out stitches when I've messed up. Thank you for the chance!

Emily B said...

My favourite AND least favourite part of quilting is hand-quilting. I *love* the way it looks and it can sometimes be quite relaxing. But sometimes it feels like the most tedious thing in the world to do, especially on a big project!

Bebesboutique said...

Nice give away! My most favorite part of makeing a quilt is letting the fabrics talk to me and tell me what they want to do. My least favorite part is accually quilting it. As you know I have a bunch of quilt tops but they are still flimsies because I keep procrastinating on putting them together. lol

Linda said...

Love the fabric for your giveaway! My least favorite part of quilting is hand sewing the binding...

Becky said...

Oh please include me. Since I am very new at quilting I don't have a least favorite part but my favorite part is picking out the fabrics. I LOVE looking for just the right ones.

Thanks!

Natys said...

thanks

Carrie in KC said...

Those are very pretty fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway!

Darci said...

My least favorite thing in quilting is cutting everything out! I hate that part.

teachpany said...

Hi. My favorite thing is playing with the fabric and design, trying to picture the end product, and playing as I go. I had a quilt I wanted to lay out one way, but changed it after laying it out! A different layout was so much more dramatic! I don't like doing the binding, since I hate that much hand sewing. My hand gets too tired, so I am trying to do it on machine. Have to play more to get it perfect. Love your blog!

paula_lemos said...

Thanks for the giveaway! My least favorite part of quilting is the biding, especially at the corners of the quilt. Need to practice more!

and my least favorite part is the cutting.

Cory said...

I love all aspects of quilting but my favorite part of quilting is seeing the finished product. When the quilt has the final stitch in the binding and I stand back and admire it. Please enter me twice. Those fabrics you are giving away are beautiful. Thank you. Take care and God bless, Cory

Michele said...

My most favorite part in the quilting process, is handquilting.

Chris Davis said...

Cutting is my least favorite part -- primarily because I cannot seem to be able to cut it straight until rotary cutters came along. Shopping and buying fabric is the part I like best :)

Barbie said...

My favourite part of quilting is making the first 'test' block. I love the anticipation of seeing what the fabrics look like in an actual block. My least favourite part is squaring up the finished blocks. It seems to take forever!

Thanks for the beautiful giveaway!

and what is my fave or least fave thing? Well, I'd have to say that my least fave is starting...I'm a newbie & have yet to complete that first one :)

Paulette said...

Please enter my name...and my fave/least fave thing about quilting - binding...it is time consuming to do but I actually like hand-stitching it down. Odd yes since I don't care for hand applique.

Baba said...

I love all aspects of quilting but probably my least favorite is pressing seams because it takes so long. The end result is what I can't wait to see so I keep on.

metrosupialdesigns said...

I have a fear of using yellow for some reason, maybe this will help add it to my stash.

I love making beautifully pressed seams and sewing binding. I hate the actual quilting. Makes me think its time to start hand quilting.

kmel said...

Love those muted yellows! My least favorite part of quilting is hand-sewing down around the corners of the binding. I've never seen a good tutorial on how to do it correctly ... mine always end up a mess!

Jackie Davis said...

It *is* a good day when your plants are surviving! It's a sign of a good green thumb and comes with a feeling of success!

Love those colors/fabrics! They can be used together is so many great patterns.

I like least: basting. I have to use the floor and I am 34 weeks prego. I have been showing my husband what I need to do to put the quilts together and he said he may try to make me a frame or something to help me.

I like best: Honestly, I like cutting (rotary and templates are my friends) and sewing the pieces together. I also currently design/make my own patterns after seeing several I like of a design I am going for. Then selecting fabric is fun, but i don't think I'm that good at it yet, need more practice, practice. I also have fun selecting thread! Whether it is to match or be an accent. I am oddly excited about thread selection.

Thanks for this opporunity!

I love sewing the binding on....maybe it is cuz I get to think about the fun (or stress) of making the quilt and knowing it will be finished soon.

The part I dislike is prewashing fabric. I made patriotic quilts for QOV and the reds need to be prewashed. It all gets tangled up in the washer and dryer, then I usually forget them in the dryer....meaning I then have to iron them....

Thanks for the giveaway!

loviesformybabies said...

favorite part of quilting: the final result! :) thanks for the giveaway.

Rachel said...

I love the conceptualizing...the pondering over quilts in the middle of the night and jotting down notes/sketches in the journal by my bed. And then of course the trial and error that comes from trying to make midnight ramblings into something material. Thanks for being so generous with your beautiful fabrics.

Kate said...

My favorite part of quilting is the matching of fabrics. You put something together that didn't look like it would go, but wow it looks great!

cmp said...

Great fabric! I hate cutting out when I quilt!

Nonerz said...

I love the hot steam of my iron!!!! It's my only chance to get a facial! =) No, really - I love the fabric selection & seeing it all come together when I sew it up!

Harley Dee said...

I think my favorite part of quilting is picking out the fabric! I love deciding on a theme (or no theme) and then shopping for the fabrics to put into it :)

Rachel said...

My favorite part of quilting is starting to cut all of my fabrics- so exciting! So satisfying! My least favorite part is finishing cutting my fabrics- so tedious! I want to start sewing!

Thanks for the giveaway!

sewmeow said...

My favorite part of quilting is the sewing of the pieces together, and my least favorite part is sandwiching a large bed size quilt, getting it ready to quilt!

Thanks for the giveaway.

RagamuffinQuilts said...

My favorite part is the creative start, deciding a design, fabrics, color scheme.

My LEAST favorite part is probably the same as it can take me longer to decide on which fabs to put together. I've been known to loiter at the fabric shop for HOURS just to end up with the first pile I selected. LOL

Thanks for the offering the fq giveaway!

Peaceful Piecer said...

I enjoy cutting and piecing much more than the actual quilting.I don't feel confident in my machine quilting so it sort of takes the joy out of it.

Laurel said...

My favorite part is the planning - everything from designing to deciding on the fabric choices. Second to that is putting together the quilt top. My least favorite is the binding...

Deb said...

I love anything MODA. Please enter my name. My least favorite part is that binding! My daughter has to help me with it every time!

Allie said...

My favorite part of quilting is choosing what fabrics to put together. I wish I could just do that all day...

Heather said...

Please include me! My favorite part about quilting is choosing fabrics that, when put together, create an essences that surrounds the entire resulting project. I like seeing a quilt and being able to tell that it was made in the spring, or by someone who loves quiet winter afternoons, or someone who wanted the perfect cuddle-up-and-read quilt.

Michelle W. said...

Ok, so I am new to the sewing world, but I can't get enough of making my girls little dresses. And now that spring is in the air, sun dress is on my mind. I would love to make something out of your beautiful fabric!
