2009 Projects ~ Funny Babies Baby Girl Crib Quilt

It's a windy day here, so we did the best we could with the snapshots.
I am a firm believer in prewashing quilts that are for resale, so that customers won't have any surprises in the wash. And by surprises, I mean mainly the diffent look you get when you wash & dry 100% cotton batting, the wonderful look of an antique quilt.
This quilt is randomly stippled in a varigated pastel thread on both sides of the quilt. The quilt is backed in the pink floral used in the binding & body of the quilt front.
This quilt is made from my Charm Pack Cutie pattern which is available in my Etsy supply store (and currently up for grabs in my monthly blog giveaway!).
If this quilt does not find a loving home at this weekend's craft show, I will list it in my Etsy quilt store.

2009 Projects ~ Wallets Wallets, everywhere

I have been very bad at updating my project list the past month. I suppose I should say that it was on the bottom of the priority list..that sounds better.

I spent a few days making wallets that matched or complimented the purses I have on hand so that at the craft shows I have both a small ticket item as well as an upsell or promo to offer for multiple purchases.

These wallets double nicely for business card or gift card holders too. Once the show this weekend is over, any remaining will be listed on Etsy...stay tuned!

Giveaway Wednesday!

As I am finally getting back in the swing of normal life, it donned on me that I have not had a contest in a while.

So, up for grabs is the Charm Pack Cutie pattern. Shown are 2 examples of the quilt you can make from the pattern.

The purple toned quilt uses the Hartfield collection charm pack and the pink quilt uses the Funny Babies collection. I have yet to quilt the Funny Babies top, but it is marked & basted. I am hopeful for this weekend!

Contest Rules:
  • leave a comment on this post before midnight July 4th.
  • Include in your comment your one most favorite thing about summer (or winter, for my down under pals).
  • Pattern will be emailed, so if you do not have your email set up in your blogger profile, please leave it in the comment.
  • I will post the winner using Random.org on July 5th

It's a new look

While all my cut fabrics and notions were all boxed up for quilt shows the past 2 weekends, I did a little DIY'ing.

A fresh coat of paint, a little wallpaper border & some clothes pins...what a difference!
I am also set to put up new shelving. Good thing too, since I just ordered about 40 bolts of fabric!
So stay tuned for new listings!

Mountain Memories Quilt Show~A great way to spend the weekend!

**Another post with a warning**

**Lots of pics...it's a long one!**
Just finished unpacking & putting away all my goodies after a great quilt show in Crossville, TN.

The Cumberland County Piecemakers put on a great show & are the most gracious to the vendors. Not only was every single member sweet as molasses, and shopping with every vendor, but they provided us with breakfast & lunch and drinks throughout the show. True Southern Hospitality at its finest!
Here's a peek in my booth...hard to capture the grandure (ROFL) in one little picture!

Now, on to the quilts!!!!!!

This guild has a really neat way of awarding prizes. The whole show is viewer's choice. Each guest at the show gets a ballot with 6 categories plus the fellas get a separate ballot so they can also award "gentleman's choice". The balloting is all day Friday and Saturday until noon. Then they frantically tally & award the ribbons in a ceremony at 3pm. The show closes at 5, so it was really nice to see the added activity late in the day the last day. Since I brought my camera only the first day, I did not get pics with ribbons.

Here are some of the bed quilt beauties!

There were the most adorable wall hangings, large & small!

And Miniatures!

A couple bargello quilts that just put me in awe:

And I found Sunbonnets around every corner:

Off to another Quilt Show!

How fun to have a booth 2 weeks in a row at local quilt shows! I tried to "mix it up" a little from week to week, but there is only so much I can do.

This show is in Crossville, TN, hosted by Cumberland County Piecemakers (http://ccpiecemakers.com). The Mountain Memories Quilt Show is held at the fairgrounds (map on the website) and will run 9-5 today & 9-3 tomorrow.

I have so much to update you on after I get this show under my belt! New fabrics & notions and a store redesign too! Oh, and of course, more pics from this quilt show! I saw some beauties yesterday while I was setting up my booth!

Have a great weekend!

Driving traffic to your store is not always on YOU!

Ok, so it is really is an owner's job to get traffic to your store...B&M or virtual.
BUT when you have a construction zone that stops traffic for weeks, folks kinda avoid your street!
This too shall pass, and hopefully it will yeild the promised road repaving later this summer.
I would take odds on whether or not it is done for the "world's longest yardsale" that goes past our door in 6 weeks. It is sure to be a week of fussing from yard salers!

What a Sweet Quilt show it was!

I think this will end up being a long post, so you have been forewarned :)

The Sew Sweet Quilter's, my local guild, wrapped up our quilt show Saturday afternoon after 2 fun filled quilt show days! Without further ado....our show!

Quilts submitted for display only (not judged) were either hung in the show room, or if without sleeves, draped on the pews in the sanctuary.

Our guild has 3 founding members. One of those ladies was our featured quilter for the show, Eileen Powell. She is the most generous and wonderful woman, and OH MY, what a quilter! We each did a block for this quilt & presented it to her the Monday of show week. We each signed our block, and the lattice block has also been signed by everyone.

Here it is: Best in show!!! This bright reverse applique was made by Claudine Pinkley (shown) and long arm quilted by Becky Stowers. Claudine has a great eye for eye popping color. She has only been quilting a few years. The quilt is phenomenal!

Patsy Littrell won her blue ribbon for the hand quilting category. The crazy quilt was also made by Patsy & both were a labor of love. It is such fun to have Patsy walk you through the crazy quilt, as there is a story behind each piece.

Debbie Hart, made all three of these quilts! I love the versatility in her quilting. She truly enjoys every part of quilting and is not tied down to any one favorite style, method, or "look". Debbie won Best in Show last year.

The quilts below were just some I snapped pics of. I didn't talk to the quilters to get persmission to name them/call them out, so I will post them for your veiwing pleasure!
