Looks like fall, feels like summer!

We’ve had a pretty long dry spell but finally got some rain yesterday.  It’s one of those “all the leaves fall in 1 day” kind of fall’s.

 

But it sure is pretty!  I am ready for the temps to drop to match the look of fall!

This is a great block for the GO! cutters.  Use the 6.5” square, 3.5” square, and 3.5x6.5” rectangle dies.

A little Show N Tell

I have been working a to-do list pretty hard this week and here is another project off the list.

This one block wonder was fun to make.  I used the cut away triangles from the snowballs to make the border.  (remember the squaring up with the GO! tutorial?)

Great scrappy, FQ friendly pattern.  It’s just a snowball block, 2 flying geese & 1 square in the corner.
 
I ended up with a nice full size quilt that will be off to the long arm quilter very soon!

A little giftie

I enjoyed making my mom a Bow Tucks purse so much I decided to make another one.

 

This time, I used Texture Magic in the base of the bag.

 

 

The fun Chloe fabric is so fun to work with.  I loosely quilted around the flowers & swirls with a King Tut variegated thread.

A Wonderful weekend with the Mountain Laurel Quilters

Another long load time warning!  Lots of quilt pics!

I am just not sure if a girl can have more fun than to be around the ladies of the Mountain Laurel Quilters of London KY.    Not only are they uber-talented, as you will soon see, but they are kind, funny, charitable, and SEW SWEET!

So, without further ado…the quilts!

 

The quilt below is the US Census Quilt for KY.  One lucky quilter from each county made a block to create this masterpiece.

A little surprise for me!

The only thing more exciting that seeing it come down was seeing it go back up.  But, alas, I missed it.

Friday while I was off on my quilt show adventure, the deed was done!
Now to find time to paint that sorry-looking sign pole!

We have just listed a great bundle of fabrics designed by Pat Sloan for P&B Textiles, Georgia.  What a fresh modern design in warm fall tones!

We have also restocked the classic John Deere fabrics & listed those for all of you that love the country look!

A weekend on the lake, with quilts!

The Tellico Village Quilters put on a beautiful quilt show this weekend and it was such a beautiful drive around Fort Loudon Lake too!
