Quilts, Table Runners & pieces, Oh my!

I enjoyed my long Thanksgiving weekend by finishing up some projects! 

Finally some quilting going on in the quilt shop this week though it was out of necessity; I ran out of basting pins.  I had 2 choices; open more or quilt the projects already basted.  I decided to buckle down & quilt instead of take the easy way out.

I made this top over the summer.  Very quick & easy fat quarter pattern, Happy Daze.  I used fabrics from Buttercup Lane.  I finally basted it a month ago when I  basted this quilt.  The scrap batting was the perfect size, so I put it to immediate use….just not immediate quilting.  (and no, that other quilt isn’t quilted yet.)

In my quest to use up what’s laying around, I made these 2 table runners from leftover Mary Engelbreit turnover pieces.  The backing & batting are also cast-offs from other projects, so these were very good for scrap management.

I finished piecing my commissioned tumbler quilt top.  It will become a new backing to an old quilt.  The pic shows it just resting on top of the scalloped edge top.  Last night I started removing the old binding, which will just be replaced with the red marble used in the tumblers.

While piecing the tumblers & the 2012 BOM top (big reveal very soon), I worked in pinwheel piecing.  I have over 100 done.  more to go, all scraps, even the white!
