Smithsonian Way We Worked comes to Jamestown

Tomorrow is the big kick off for the month-long exhibit in Jamestown, The Way We Worked, a travelling exhibit of the Smithsonian Institute.  The Sergeant York Patriotic Foundation and our local Historical Society worked very hard to bring this exhibit to our community.

In conjunction with the main exhibit at Progressive Savings Bank, a dozen Chamber of Commerce businesses have volunteered to set up additional companion exhibits for a driving tour.

Here are a few snapshots of the exhibit we have put together in our classroom for the driving tour:

We hope that if you are in the area, you will drop into the bank & supporting businesses to check out this exhibit.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is 1pm at the bank on Saturday.  I also believe that Mrs. Patsy Littrell will be hosting an antique quilt bed turning during the afternoon hours at the bank.  Patsy’s bed turnings are unique, in that she tells the story of the quilter, not just the quilt!

See you soon!

I am linking up with Sarah, cuz this took 2 days to do & anything that makes me clean my room deserves a whoop whoop!

I believe that Patsy's Bed Turning has been moved to the First Baptist Church, since it was felt there was not enough room at the Bank. She made this announcement on Monday.
