Hello August–where did summer go?

We’ve been working in all directions this summer!  But I think that’s what summer is all about.  Seems like it isn’t as long as it used to be when I was a kid.  You always hear time goes faster as you get older.  My UFO pile is a testament to that!

Since summer has been flying by, I have been remiss in sharing some great stuff with you, like

Check out these new yummies:

Life’s A Hoot

Simply Sweet

Cowgirl Up!

Flats Dolls

Winging It

Don’t forget you can see what’s coming soon from our Preview & Save section!  Be the first to know when new fabrics arrive and SAVE 5%!

We also just wrapped up the “World’s Longest Yard Sale” week.  We met great quilters & shoppers.  We hope all who participated had a great time.  We picked up a few little decorative items for the shop.

A nice big bassinet style basket

2 cute vintage aprons that needed just a nice soak & wash

and a cute new washboard.  (that’ll help remind you how good life really is-could you imagine this as part of your daily life!  Bless those who have come before us & made our lives easier!)

Last & by NO MEANS least, I am tickled to report that my yo-yo project is about to enter another phase!  I should wrap up the applique on the LAST strip tonight.  That means construction of the strips can finally begin soon!

I am already pondering my next handwork project.  I really want to play with hexies, but I think I will try to finish my hand quilting in-progress quilt first.  It’s been waiting to be a finished quilt for too many years.  Here’s the post about it from 11/2010 (eek!).  Oh, and there is also hand piecing to do.  I have been collecting vintage blocks & piecing those when I can.

I also have a little sneak peek for you…

If you’ve read all the way to the end of this long post, you deserve a treat!  We will announce in the next couple weeks (in grand fashion) that we are branching into a new textile.  I am sure that will soon be reclassified to “a new textile obsession” by Mr. FNQ.

We have begun to add our inventory to the web store & some of you have already found it!  but what is IT?

We have some kits, patterns & precuts already listed, so go take a look.  More yardage & precuts are soon to follow, as well as rug hooking, needle felting, and applique supplies.  We are over the moon giddy about this new adventure & hope you’ll share in our excitement!

my mom used to tell me all the time when i was young about time going faster when you get older. and at a very mature 20 something i just KNEW she was wrong. time is time. well being a little wiser at the age of 56, she totally knew what she was talking about. i love to quilt for charity but cannot afford fabric on a budget of less than four hundred dollars monthly for disability, i have to depend on the generousity of others for fabric but i dont have any fabric now and feel like crap because i cant donate. babscorbitt@gmail.com
