Scrap Quilt Challenge-Sponsor Spotlight-Hummingbird Highway-Scrap Therapy

We made it!  Today's the day!
It's the last day to upload your quilt's picture to our Flickr group & qualify for prizes.

We kicked of the 5th year of the Scrap Quilt Challenge with Joan Ford of Scrap Therapy as our July featured designer and thought that we would close out the Challenge telling you a bit more about Joan's scrappy goodness.

Here at Fabrics N Quilts, we are big fans.  We first met her designs through the little quilt kit packets she designs, "Snap Sacks".  Many of you have won kits right here on the blog.  One day our pal Sarah, over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict, was raving about the book Cut the Scraps.
And who's name should I find on the cover?  And so it began for me.  Stalking a designer-in the best way possible.  We snapped up her next book quickly, Scraps Plus One and were enthralled by the cover quilt.
Working with the pre-printed fusible masters over at Quiltsmart, Joan has developed 3 fusible interfacings for 9-patch blocks.  The smallest, the Mini Scrap Grid will make finished (pause) 1.5" (pause) 9 patches.  They are so easy to make, so accurate & uber cute.  Check out Joan's site for some free patterns .

Joan's latest release has been a huge hit with our customers.  The title will draw you in, but the good stuff inside will make you keep this book within arm's reach at all times.
I can't even begin to tell you how many tips are in this book that will save your quilt or project, not to mention your sanity.

Joan is a national quilting instructor too.  If your group is looking for a day of awesome fun, check out her workshop offerings.

Thank you Joan for lending your scrappy goodness to the Scrap Quilt Challenge again this year.  We know the lucky quilter that receives the autographed copy of your latest release will cherish it for years to come!

Don't's the last day to enter your quilt in the Scrap Quilt Challenge!  We have 43 prizes at the ready & all winners are drawn at random.  Someone has to could be you!

Shannon, do you have Joan's books in your shop?

I wanted to say thank you for hosting this challenge. I have enjoyed watching the pictures and posts even though I did not enter any finished quilts. I had already started finishing up several UFO's (kits...not really scrappy) however I have started some. Im praying for Next year!!
I also made the decision to start water aerobics twice a week and at my age, its kicking my hiney. Had to pick health over sewing, for now.
Thanks again! I learned some new things too. That counts!
